Hans Zimmer provides a modern twist to the classic Superman character. Whilst some of the key ideas are pleasant and promising, the overall result is a lot of sound and fury signifying… not a great deal. Relying heavily on a gimmicky drum circle made up off a dozen (give or take) renowned percussionists, the score’s composition is too simplistic to truly impress.

J.J. Abrams returns to the “Star Trek” universe for a second time and, to no one’s surprise, brings Michael Giacchino back in to provide the music. He delivers a score that offers little new material over the 2009 release, but presents it with a bit more confidence in a more tightly produced package.
SPACE SHUTTLE COLUMBIA: MISSION OF HOPE

The soundtrack to the 2013 PBS drama “Space Shuttle Columbia: Mission of Hope” features an original score by Blake Neely. Not a terribly original one, to be fair, but certainly an extremely pleasant one. Utterly charming with gentle ‘Americana’ themes and light orchestrations.
