Score: A Film Music Documentary Launches on Kickstarter – Press Release
Set for a November 2015 release, “Score: A Film Music Documentary” promises to deliver a ‘one-of-its-kind, definitive documentary about the power of filmscores’ and ‘a privileged look at the lives of the world’s greatest living virtuosos’. The film will feature some of Hollywood’s highest profile composers, such as Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Danny Elfman, John Debney and many others. A Kickstarter campaign has now launched to raise the funds necessary to complete this documentary.
The film is said to ‘explore the power of film music as an art form, and why it’s famously been used to score graduation ceremonies, weddings, and even the President of the United States’. Composers Patrick Doyle, Henry Jackman, Tyler Bates, David Newman, Deborah Lurie, as well as journalists Daniel Schweiger, Jon Burlingame and agent Richard Kraft are set to appear in the film; alongside many other industry insiders. The documentary is being made by a team of Emmy Award-winning journalists, producers and photographers who started a company specifically to produce this documentary. Amongst them are Matt Schrader, Trevor Thompson and Kenny Holmes.
